Something something something.

The problem with blogs is there just isn’t any profit in them unless you have something terribly interesting to say AND have the ability to get what you say out to the masses.  I have considered this and have tried to come up with some fascinating topic around which I could center this blog.  Here are my ideas:

1) Mommy Blog: these are very popular.  Moms, while very busy, do occasionally get down time to write about all of their little ones’ precious moments.  As I am not a lady, I can’t really call myself a mommy.  But, hey, I could write a Daddy Blog - I haven’t heard much about those so the field is probably wide open.  The next issue, however, is that I have no children.  As my wife doesn’t seem to be too excited about heading down that road as of the time of this writing, I’ll need to fall back on the fact that we have two precious cats.  And that, my friends, is what might sell.  After all, who DOESN’T want to read about a 35-year old man and his relationship with his cats?

2) Travel Blog: I guess I already do a little of this but why not step out.  In the past two and a half years, I have been to Hawai’i (that’s seriously how they spell it), Thailand, Cleveland and Newtown, PA (among other, less interesting places like Los Angeles and New York).  I’m like some sort of modern Marco Polo, despite the fact that I don’t even have a swimming pool.  The only drawback is that I don’t really have the means to do extensive traveling, not to mention the fact that my kitten babies need my constant attention.

3) Geek Blog: I don’t know that I can do this one.  I’m pretty bad with technology and I don’t play X-Box very often.

4) Music Blog: Okay, I might not be able to get this one going either.  I haven’t listened to much new music since the mid-90s and I doubt anyone would care for repeated reviews of ‘Exile on Main Street’.  Or maybe they would.  Hmm.  This one might work.

5) 80s Blog: When it comes to the 80s, I’m your man.  I was 5 years old when that mess started and 16 when it went out.  I remember the good times (Mr. Belvedere) and the bad (a lot of people seemed to get shot in those days).  And the 80s are totally in right now.  All the kids love the 80s and, once enough time passes, they’ll love the 90s and I can just transition into that.

6) Gripping Personal Struggle Blog: This one ought to be a cinch other than the fact that I don’t care to share my gripping personal struggles with anyone and those select few with whom I have shared my personal struggles have done so pretty much because they go swept into them.  Best leave this one alone and move along.

7) Some sort of amalgam of the above.  Mix and match.  Sometimes, its about cats, sometimes travel, sometimes…aw crap.  That’s what I’m already doing, isn’t it?

On a side note, it is really, seriously raining.  Oh!  Weather blog!
